Vivo is all set to introduce a new member to its smartphone family , the Vivo V50 Elite Edition, in India on May 15 at 12 PM IST. The brand made the announcement through a post on X (formerly Twitter), along with a teaser video that offers a sneak peek of the phone’s design. The first thing that catches the eye? A stylish circular rear camera module, which stands out from the pill-shaped camera island seen on the original Vivo V50 that debuted in February.
The teaser also shows “Elite Edition” neatly inscribed just below the camera, signaling that this model is more than just a minor upgrade. Vivo is clearly hinting at enhanced audio and photography capabilities, describing the phone as delivering “sound that surrounds and portraits that captivate.” While specific details remain under wraps, the tagline suggests improvements in both entertainment and imaging features.

In terms of performance, the Vivo V50 Elite Edition is expected to build upon the strong foundation of the standard V50. It might come powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and feature a hefty 6,000mAh battery. Add to that 90W fast charging support, and users can expect minimal downtime when powering up.
Camera enthusiasts may find a lot to like here. The Elite Edition is likely to carry a Zeiss-branded dual rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. On the front, a 50-megapixel selfie camera is also expected, ideal for high-quality selfies and video calls. The phone may also come with an IP68 and IP69 rating, making it both dust-tight and highly water-resistant.
The display is expected to be a showstopper too. A 6.77-inch full-HD+ quad-curved AMOLED panel, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, promises crisp visuals and smooth scrolling, whether you’re gaming, streaming, or just browsing.
Like its predecessor, the Elite Edition is likely to run on FuntouchOS 15 based on Android 15 and offer configurations with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. If pricing follows the previous pattern, expect it to fall in a similar bracket, with the original V50 ranging from Rs. 34,999 to Rs. 40,999.
