Google’s Boss Sundar Pichai Reportedly Uses More Than A Dozen Phones; Here’s Why

Google’s boss, Sundar Pichai, is a smartphone hoarder, not because he’s a digital junky and can afford all the shiny gadgets that cost more than just a kidney. Responding to queries at an earlier BBC interview, Pichai revealed he uses twenty smartphones at times. He also shared that he keeps different SIM cards for his phones. And if you are wondering what kind of phones he’s got, Pichai likes to get hands-on experience with all the latest models of rival firm’s gadgets. From Samsung’s foldables to iPhones and the in-house Pixel, he’s got them all. While his primary phone is a Pixel device, he fiddles with all the other phones to check how Google products work on each one of them. In an interview with YouTuber Arun Maini, Pichai revealed that his go-to multitasking device is Pixel 7 Pro.

With more firms gunning to get a foldable in their catalog, leveraged by AI, the real competition might move from form factors to what’s under the hood. Most Android smartphones heavily rely on Google and, in a sense, are crippled without their own ecosystem of OS and AI. The company is now rolling out an AI-enabled Circle to Search feature for Android devices that might become the preferred way to search for most users. Copycats might follow. And Pichai would know exactly what to do ‘cuz he’d have all the devices under his scanner.
