Keeping on Top With New Product Innovation

Hot on the heels of its latest new product development, pioneering roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles has launched its first underlay range, RussFast Underlay.

The range is the newest advancement in the manufacturers commitment to continue to strengthen its product portfolio supporting developers, housebuilders, architects, and contractors with reliable, quality roofing solutions.

The first two products in the RussFast Underlay range have been designed for warm or cold roof construction and are compatible with all Russell Roof Tiles Accessories as well as the newly launched RussFast Solar.

Russell Roof tiles is a leading manufacturer of a range of concrete roof tiles, upvc fittings and accessories for pitched roofing across the UK.

The new underlay portfolio includes both a HR (High-resistance) and LR (Low-resistance) product for differing scenarios, the HR version is ideally placed to be specified with the firm’s first solar PV offer to market, RussFast Solar.

Meeting the highest quality standards, both products carry the Q mark certification from BM TRADA.  This is a certification for construction products based on the globally recognised Product Certification Standard EN 45011 which confirms that a product conforms to the highest technical specifications. To achieve this certification, products endure rigorous testing, the underlays will also continue to have regular audit testing of product samples taken from the factory, to comply with ongoing certification.

RussFast HR & LR Underlays both achieve Zone 1-5 classification and can be used throughout the UK making it simpler and easier for specifiers to use on a range of different project types. Both RussFast underlays also do not require taped overlaps.

RussFast Underlay sets a benchmark for roofing solutions by being positioned to surpass NHBC requirements and also including full compliance with British Standards BS 5534 and BS 5250. This is done by providing superior resistance to wind uplift and weather protection and by ensuring effective control of condensation within the building envelope. RussFast underlay adheres to BS EN 13859-1 which specifies the requirements for underlays used in pitched roofing applications. This level of compliance makes sure RussFast Underlay not only meets but exceeds the critical performance criteria expected by specifiers, providing a reliable solution that enhances the longevity and performance of roofs across diverse construction projects.

Dan Hancox, Corporate Sustainability and Development Director, comments: “Innovation is at the forefront of our business, and we are continually looking at ways to improve our portfolio to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

“It’s essential to use quality accredited materials for a new roofing system and we are delighted that after 18 months development we’re supporting our tile ranges with our first underlay offer.”

Russell Roof Tiles is currently constructing a £18.5m state-of-the-art plant at its Burton headquarters and main tile manufacturing site, which will double output and help to continue to increase efficiencies and capacity. This site expansion will also improve energy efficiency through its new state of the art curing facility (only the second of its type in the country) as well as the installation of solar panels, the first on its sites.

By using innovative technologies and streamlining operations, Russell Roof Tiles is enhancing the sustainability credentials of the business and also setting new benchmarks for industry excellence.  The company stands at the forefront, leading the way for a greener future for generations to come.

Russell Roof Tiles is a leading independent pitched roof tile manufacturer supplying products for the top housebuilders and high-profile social housing and commercial projects.  The company produces thousands of tiles every week that are used on roofs across the UK, for all of the UK’s premier housebuilders, architects and developers.
