Owlcat Games releases new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – Void Shadows DLC, alongside a massive new free update

Owlcat Games has released a new trailer for the previously announced Void Shadows DLC coming to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader on August 8, showcasing the Death Cult and new companion Kibellah.

Additionally, Owlcat has released a teaser trailer and notes for Patch 1.2, releases today. This is the largest patch to the game so far, containing more than 2500 changes.

The Owlcat team is hard at work, continuing the evolution of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and its upcoming DLC, Void Shadows. Today, the cRPG developer is excited to share a new trailer for Void Shadows focused on the Lord Captain’s newest companion and details on the massive, just-released patch 1.2.

True to their name, the Death Cults worship the Emperor through the art of death and killing. One such group has worked in the shadows for the benefit of von Valancius for generations, and now they have achieved the attention of the mighty Lord Captain. It is there that the paths and destinies of the Rogue Trader and Kibellah, an outstanding Assassin in the cult,  will intertwine. Find out how strong her loyalty is and whether there is something even deeper and more personal hidden behind it while facing the xeno threat emerging from the bowels of the voidship.

The Patch 1.2 is the biggest update of the game so far and contains over 2500+ visible and internal changes, including:

  • Game Balance: Deep rebalance of out-of-sequence turns, buffs to Sanctioned Psykers and Pyromancy, tuning of scaling in the late game and much more
  • Co-op: Play together from the start! Up to two additional custom mercenary characters are now available in the Prologue. Other improvements include custom portrait transfer, save file size reduction, desync fixes.
  • Quality of Life and UI: Improved inventory sorting, tooltips, combat log and level up screen, quests are now marked on star systems, and more.
  • Location and NPCs: Updated pathing, visual effects, cover placement, backgrounds, and improved NPC appearance and variety.
  • Dialogue:  New dialogue for secret companions, fixes and updates for existing dialogue, fixes for epilogue slides.
  • Rumor System: Rumor zones are now highlighted on the map.
  • Cutscenes and Animations: Improved  animations, timing, cameras, additional animations.
  • Audio and Visual Effects: New visual effects for abilities, auras, creature animations, and more, and new sound effects and corrections to VO.
  • New Item Icons
  • Localization: Improvements and typo fixes across all languages. 

This patch also includes a massive amount of bug fixes for all aspects of the game. The full list of fixes and changes can be found here.
