Apple’s Foldable Device Roadmap Unveiled; Analysts Predict Mass Production By 2025

According to an investor note obtained by 9to5Mac, Apple is intensifying its efforts in the foldable device arena. Analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities unveils Apple’s roadmap, indicating mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device slated for late 2025, with a foldable iPhone expected to debut in late 2026.

Insights from Industry Observers

Notable analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young have previously shed light on Apple’s ventures into foldable technology. Kuo mentioned a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook slated for a 2027 release, while Young hinted at a 20-inch foldable hybrid device potentially hitting the market in 2026 or 2027. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also contributed, mentioning Apple’s exploration of a dual-screen, foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.

Pu’s latest report suggests that Apple has expedited its foldable device initiatives, citing increasing visibility based on supply chain assessments. Pu underscores that these foldable offerings represent a strategic move by Apple into the ultra-high-end market, signalling a departure from its traditional product lineup.

Apple’s exploration extends to the realm of foldable iPhones, with reported screen size considerations ranging from 7.9 to 8.3 inches. If Pu’s insights hold true, the 20.3-inch foldable device will commence mass production by late 2025, followed by the debut of the foldable iPhone in late 2026.
