Excitement is building for Google’s upcoming Pixel 9a, and thanks to some recently leaked high-resolution renders, we’re getting a closer look at what this phone will offer. These new images show a fresh design for the Pixel 9a, especially when it comes to the rear camera setup, which now sits flush against the rear panel, departing from the Pixel 8a’s signature visor-style camera island.
The Pixel 9a is expected to run Android 15 and come powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, offering a noticeable boost in performance. The front of the phone will feature a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, with the bezels around the display appearing symmetrical, giving the phone a more modern look. According to the latest leaks, pre-orders for the Pixel 9a will start on March 19, with official sales kicking off on March 26. It’s expected to be priced at around $499 (approximately Rs. 42,000) for the 128GB storage option, making it an attractive choice in the mid-range segment.

In terms of specifications, the Pixel 9a is likely to feature a 6.3-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits, making it perfect for outdoor viewing. The display will also have Gorilla Glass 3 protection to help prevent scratches and damage. Inside, the phone is expected to pack 8GB of RAM and offer 256GB of internal storage, giving you plenty of space for apps and media. It will also have an IP68 rating, meaning it’s dust and water-resistant, adding to its overall durability.
Design and Camera Setup
The leaked renders shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) on X showcase the Pixel 9a in four stylish colors: Obsidian (black), Peony (pink), Porcelain (gold), and Iris (blue). The design of the phone is sleek and modern, with the camera module placed slightly to the left on the back. Unlike the Pixel 8a, the camera unit on the Pixel 9a is nearly flush with the rear panel and arranged horizontally within a pill-shaped module.
For photography, the Pixel 9a is expected to feature a dual-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, promising crisp and vibrant photos with improved low-light performance. The phone is also likely to include a 5,100mAh battery, with support for 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging.
With its sleek design, impressive performance, and solid camera setup, the Pixel 9a is shaping up to be a standout option in the mid-range smartphone market.
