Persistent Depressive Disorder, also known as Dysthymia , is a long-lasting form of Depression. In this condition, a person may experience bouts of depression and mood shifts. “Individuals with PDD often experience feelings of hopelessness, low self-esteem, and a lack of interest or pleasure in most activities. Unlike major depressive disorder, the symptoms of PDD may be less severe but tend to be more enduring. This condition can significantly impair daily functioning and quality of life, affecting various aspects such as work, relationships, and overall well-being,” wrote Therapist Maythal Eshaghian.
